Researchers wanted to see the result of people eating only one meal a day.

For this study, researchers put an average weight and middle-aged men on a three-meal-per-day plan for eight weeks. After that, they were shifted to a one-meal-per-day plan for another eight weeks. People usually think that you gain more calories eating one meal a day than eating three meals a day. But you will find it challenging to consume a large meal at once, which enables calorie deficit. So this is how it was discovered that eating one meal a day makes you lose more fats. However, the process of this diet increased blood pressure and cholesterol level on some participants.

Varady also studied in another process by keeping obese men and women for a time-restricted eating pattern. The participants were allowed to eat only one meal between 3 pm and 7 pm for two months. The rest of the day, the participant fasted, and it helped in calorie restriction naturally. It was found out that most of the participants lost around 10 pounds over the study process.

There were also other beneficial results of reduced blood pressure, insulin resistance, and oxidative stress. Omad diet works impressively if you keep close track of your routine and follow time-restricted eating. Despite the positive results of weight loss on omad diet, many people are still cautious about it. People think that omad diet is extreme with one meal per day routine. They also fear that eating one meal in twenty fours hours may not supply enough nutrients to the body.
